The stunningly competent Schwantes Cousin Reunion Planning Committee (Kessa 2.0, Jennifer Beene Smith and Whit Stubbs) are planning a reunion. And yep! It’s gonna be a good one.
The details are as follows:
- Dates: July 12-13, 2024.
- RSVP by making a payment below.
- Location: Wasatch Academy, 120 South 100 West, Mt. Pleasant, Utah (1 hr. drive south of Provo) This venue is a boarding school. We will be gathering in the Zoe Dorm lobby, the Loftin Lewis Student Center and the Tiger’s Den Auditorium. Outdoor spaces will be provided for us, on campus. Here is a Campus Map. You are welcome to stay in the dorm or at a nearby hotel, Airbnb or RV park. (see info below*)
- Items to bring if staying overnight in the Zoe Dorm: Each person needs to provide their own bedding (pillow, sheets and blanket), towel, soap and all toiletries. The Zoe Dorm rooms simply provide a twin mattress on a bedframe. The Zoe Dorm has two separate communal shower rooms/bathrooms with private stalls (women’s on one floor and men’s on another floor) so bring a robe. Couples may share one room on either floor, but will use separate shower and bathroom facilities.
- Cost: $45 per person, includes one night stay in a twin bed in the dorm. This also covers the cost of reunion supplies. $10 per person if not staying in the dorm.

The dorm has a full kitchen with a stove, microwave and fridge. You are welcome to bring your own food items for breakfast and keep them in the fridge.

Your family may enjoy arriving a day early to enjoy recreation opportunities in the Manti La-Sal Mountains, such as 4-wheeler trails within minutes of Mount Pleasant.
2024 SCHWANTES FAMILY REUNION AGENDA
Friday July 12, 2024
- Optional 10:00 am – 1:00 pm Family Water Adventure at the lake at Palisades State Park, 2200 E Palisade Dr., Sterling, Utah. Bring your own watercraft or rent one from the park. Paddle boats and Paddleboards: $20 for 1 hour, $40 for 4 hours; Canoes and Adult Kayaks: $10 for 1 hour, $20 for 4 hours; Kid Kayaks: $5 for 1 hour and $15 for 4 hours
- Dorm Check-in any time after 12:30 am Friday. Wasatch Academy Map.
- Lunch is on your own.
- Open social time in the Zoe dorm lobby between check-in and dinner.
- 6:00 pm Friday Group Dinner: Café Rio style salad. Chicken, beef, beans, rice, drinks and paper products provided. Please sign up to bring an item for the salads.

- Breakfast is on your own.
- 10:00 – 12:00 Family Presentations in the Wasatch Academy Tiger’s Den Auditorium. (Wasatch Academy Map) This will be a fun time to share recent family news, updates and photos. A representative from each main Schwantes family (children of Henry Carl and Elizabeth) is invited to give a 10-min (approx.) presentation, highlighting their family and showing photos on the big screen. Our hope is that we can all get to know each other better. Have some fun with this! Bring your photos on a flash drive or have them ready to access online. In addition, we will have some short presentations about our ancestors.
- 12:00 pm Deli Group Lunch in the Loftin Lewis Student Center. Please sign up to bring a sandwich item or side.
- After Lunch: Open social time as long as you like. There is no check-out time.
- Dinner is on your own. (There are several local restaurants and a grocery store in Mount Pleasant.)
- Note: The Manti Temple announced that they are closed July 1-15 so we won’t be attending during the reunion.

Financial Transparency: Kessa Diann Jeppson stores all reunion registration payments and website cost contributions in a personal account at Mountain America Credit Union. Reports are maintained and made available upon request to any descendant of Henry Carl and Elizabeth Loving Schwantes.
Privacy Policy: The names and contact info for all reunion attendees are kept by Kessa Diann Jeppson (a Bushman cousin) on a spreadsheet in her personal Google Drive account, for reunion planning purposes. This list will be made available upon request to any paid reunion attendee. It will not be shared publicly. Sensitive payment method information such as credit card numbers are housed in Stripe and are not viewable by anyone, including Kessa.
